CAPTAIN AMERICA jumped awkwardly, losing two lengths and therefore was slow into stride. HELDERBERG BLUE was fractious behind the stalls, reared, dislodged the rider, and had to be loaded without the rider, causing a slight delay. Trainer Bass will be advised that this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and may not race until he is passed tractable on a race day with company on two occasions. Jockey van Niekerk reported that MOUNTAIN MASTER took no interest in running. COUNTS ROCKET was carried inwards slightly at the 1900m by HELDERBERG BLUE, which shifted in. Jockey Fayd'herbe, the rider of HELDERBERG BLUE, appeared before the Board regarding this incident and was advised to give more room to runners on his inside when riding in races around the bend in future. POWER KING lost position at the 300m, when it was checked severely to avoid the heels of STRONGMAN when carried in by CAPTAIN AMERICA, which improved into a narrow run on the inside of CAPE CUTTER, which rolled out and brushed LEGISLATE and then rolled inwards and carried CAPTAIN AMERICA in. The Board, after reviewing the incident from various angles, was of the opinion that there were circumstances surrounding the incident and judged it to be a racing incident and therefore took no further action. CAPTAIN AMERICA was difficult to settle in the early and middle stages. LEGISLATE and CAPTAIN AMERICA were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: MOUNTAIN MASTER - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. HELDERBERG BLUE - blowing.
