COMBATTIMENTO (AUS) was restless in the stalls. MIGHTY STAR was squeezed at the start. Apprentice Neethling, the rider of DANDYMAN CAN, was charged with a contravention, in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight, or at the weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer, which resulted in a change of rider for DANDYMAN CAN. Apprentice Neethling signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. Jockey Cormack reported that COMBATTIMENTO (AUS) returned bleeding from the mouth. BLOOD BUCCANEER and EQUITORIA were tightened for galloping room at the 1700m between DIPLOMATIC, which shifted in, and MANX MISSILE, which raced tightly on the inside running rail and shifted outwards to obtain relief. Jockey Behr, the rider of DIPLOMATIC, appeared before the Board regarding this incident and was advised to give more room to other runners in similar circumstances. Apprentice Carstens, the rider of ROYAL PERFORMANCE, appeared before the Board and his attention was drawn to Rule 58.13 - every rider shall, in all races, wear eye protection. BLOOD BUCCANEER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. DEFINITIVE raced fitted with blinkers. Vet: COMBATTIMENTO (AUS) - bleeding from the mouth. Scratched: SILVER IMAGE - lame right fore. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
