DON'T BE BLUE reared over, dislodging Jockey Maujean, breaking free from the handler and bolted from the start. This filly was taken in hand, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently withdrawn. The starting stall certificate for this filly was withdrawn. This caused the delay to the start. TAWNY JET was nervous in the stalls and was slow into stride. KEEPER OF THE KEYS was nervous in the stalls, unruly, slow away and lost 1 length. VIVA LE BLEU was slow away and lost 3 lengths. Jockey Steyn, the rider of MICROBE, reported that his saddle slipped back in the running. As a consequence of this Jockey K Steyn was unable to fully assist this mare in the running. This was confirmed by the Stewards. In view of the Starter's report with regard to DON'T BE BLUE, this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and she was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable to jump on terms. DON'T BE BLUE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. BLACK GARDENIA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. KEEPER OF THE KEYS raced without a tongue . Vet: DON'T BE BLUE - bolted. KEEPER OF THE KEYS - mouth injury. MICROBE - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: DON'T BE BLUE - bolted.
