Light rain fell prior and during the running of the 4th Race. FABRIC was restless in the stalls and thereafter lost 1 length. COWBOY lost 1 length. DELAWARE BLUES was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Howells was questioned regarding the improved performance of DELAWARE BLUES, the winner, compared to this gelding's previous two runs. Mr Howells explained that this gelding was unable to overcome the bad draw of 11/13 runners in his previous run. Prior to that he raced this gelding from a position towards the front of the field which in his opinion does not suit this gelding. He attributed today's improvement to racing this gelding with cover and has undertaken to race DELAWARE BLUES over similar distances and with the same tactics in his future performances. Mr Howells' explanation has been noted and the Board will monitor the future performances of this gelding. Jockey Lembethe reported that ZILLID WARRIOR compounded in the closing stages. Vet: SPORTING RIGHTS - cut into right hind. ZILLID WARRIOR - nothing obvious detected. FABRIC - lame right fore.
