The start of the 5th Race was slightly delayed after the gates had to be re-checked after they opened prior to the field being loaded. ILITSHE (AUS) was difficult to load. ILITSHE (AUS) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer Buckler, acting on behalf of Trainer de Kock, requested and was granted permission for ILITSHE (AUS) to proceed to the start with the assistance of a lead horse. SOLO RUSH and SWISS ARROW over-raced in the early and middle stages. ROYAL COLOURS shifted both ways from the crop over the final 300 metres. I SEE RED took no interest in running and the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Vet: I SEE RED - nothing obvious detected.
