Apprentice Neethling, the rider of SEA SAPPHIRE, raced in Club Colours. Apprentice Carstens, the rider of DOUBLE OR QUITS, raced in Club Colours. In view of the performance from VALKYRIE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly and submit a report. The saddle on NO WHITE FLAG, which over-raced, slipped forward badly approaching the 1200m, which placed Jockey Noach at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race and he did not persevere with his riding in the home straight. THE QUEEN VIC was hanging out from the 250m. DOUBLE OR QUITS shifted in sharply away from the crop at the 300m. Jockey Domeyer was charged with a contravention, in that he made a celebratory gesture before crossing the finish line on JET TURBINE. Jockey Domeyer signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. Apprentice Carstens was charged with contravention, read with Guideline G, Appendix L, in that he misused his crop by hitting DOUBLE OR QUITS when she was out of contention for a place. Apprentice Carstens signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. JET TURBINE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. NO WHITE FLAG raced fitted with blinkers. Vet: VALKYRIE - small wound on the lateral cannon. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure. Several Jockeys and Apprentices were selected at random for the taking of breathalyser tests and urine samples for analysis.
