CLIPPERTON ISLAND, TARGET FIVE and ARMALITE were slow into stride. TYLER'S TALENT lost 4 lengths. TAEGAN'S JET was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Gordon requested and was granted permission for VIENNA WOOD to proceed to the start with the assistance of a lead horse. BARCELONA BOY returned post race having cast the left fore shoe. GREAT DETAIL shifted in shortly after the start, resulting in ARMALITE having to be steadied off the heels of GREAT DETAIL and CLIPPERTON ISLAND being momentarily inconvenienced. Apprentice Murray, the rider of GREAT DETAIL, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to ensure that he is clear of other runners when shifting ground in future. TARGET FIVE was steadied off the heels of GREAT DETAIL at approximately the 500 metre mark. In view of the performances of AUTO PILOT and CLIPPERTON ISLAND, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. Jockey Kennedy reported that he felt something amiss with HAPPY COLOURS in running. Jockey Randolph, the rider of BARCELONA BOY, raced in Club Colours. AUTO PILOT raced fitted with blinkers. TYLER'S TALENT raced fitted with blinkers only. The Medical Officer reported that Apprentice Godden was suffering from dehydration and stood down. Vet: AUTO PILOT - nothing obvious detected. CLIPPERTON ISLAND - respiratory noise. HAPPY COLOURS - not striding out both fore.
