The start of this race was delayed due to FIRE RUSH being difficult to canter to the start and having to be led by a Handler. MONTELUPO was slow, losing 4 to 5 lengths. Trainer Laird was advised to re-school this gelding prior to its next engagement. GLORIOUS VICTORY was slow, losing two lengths. BRAVE CASE raced without blinkers. FIRE RUSH raced equipped with blinkers. FIRE RUSH shifted in, resulting in GLORIOUS VICTORY and GIANT EMPIRE becoming cramped for galloping room at approximately the 1200 metre mark. FIRE RUSH shifted in making slight contact with LORD TOREADOR, resulting in FIRE RUSH becoming unbalanced for a number of strides at approximately the 500 metre mark. Apprentice Storey reported that FIRE RUSH was not striding out freely in running. Jockey Little reported that he felt something amiss with WHICH WAY and did not persevere with his ride from the 600 metre mark. Trainer Azzie was advised that should FIRE RUSH behave in a similar manner in future, it will be suspended. GLORIOUS VICTORY shifted in away from the crop carrying in FLAMING ACE shortly before the finish line. Jockey Khumalo appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of the race and advised to take more care when shifting ground in future. GLORIOUS VICTORY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. LIKE A BOSS (AUS) is a gelding, incorrectly carded. Vet: WHICH WAY and FIRE RUSH - not striding out left front.
