The start of this race was delayed due to withdrawal of STAR FLIGHT by the Course Veterinary Surgeon and EYEOFTHESIGHT unruly reared and intractable in the Starting Stalls, withdrawn by the Starter. All Horses were un-loaded and re-loaded. LORD TRAFALGAR and LAGO CUOMO (BRZ) were slow away, lost 1 length. In view of the Starters report concerning EYEOFTHESIGHT and this gelding's previous record in the Starting Stalls, he was suspended for a period of 60 days, to be recertified tractable in the Starting Stalls prior to racing again. GUISEPPE over-raced in the early stages and was hanging in, in the straight. ICEMAN was pulling hard in the early and middle stages. The saddle on LIQUIFICATION slipped backwards badly in the latter part of the turn, which resulted in Apprentice Mxothwa being unable to fully assist his mount and this gelding shifted outwards at the 400 metre mark and carried IRISH HALL outwards, which resulted in KIMMER FARM having to check off the heels of IRISH HALL. Thereafter Apprentice Mxothwa eased LIQUIFICATION out of the race. GUISEPPE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Bogaleboile, the rider of STAR FLIGHT, raced in Club Colours. KIMMER FARM raced with blinker/pacifiers. EXPEDITION LEADER raced with blinkers. The Owner of LAGO CUOMO (BRZ) is: Mr Robin Strydom; and the Colours are: emerald, white band of diamonds, emerald & white checked diamond sleeves and cap. Scratched: BELLINI BOY - insufficient recovery time. EYEOFTHESIGHT - intractable. STAR FLIGHT - injured in Starting Stall, lame left hind, withdrawn at the start
