Apprentice Zackey was charged with a contravention, read in conjunction with the Guidelines on overweight, in that he was unable to weigh out at the weight confirmed in his riding engagements to ride RUN FOR WALLY (Race 2) and SILKEN SEA (Race 3) for Trainer Smith. Apprentice Zackey signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. In view of the performance of FATHER TED, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer Miller was questioned regarding the performance of FATHER TED. He explained to the Board that in his opinion the distance of 2200 metres is too far for this gelding and has undertaken to race this gelding over shorter distances in future. Trainer Miller's explanation was noted. KARLO was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: FATHER TED - examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
