WILD RAVEN reared in the stalls. SWITCH UP jumped awkwardly, was slow losing four lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. Jockey Puller, the rider of TEQUILA FIZZ, briefly dropped his right rein approaching the 200m and his right foot came out of the stirrup iron momentarily. LOVE TO TANGO was steadied at the 200m and carried in by GOOD THINKING, which rolled in sharply. WILD RAVEN was tightened for galloping room approaching the 50m, on the inside of JAZZMATAZZ, which shifted in away from the crop. Jockey Andrews, the rider of JAZZMATAZZ, appeared before the Board regarding this incident and was advised to keep his mounts on a straight course in future. In view of the performances from GOOD THINKING and SWITCH UP, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies and submit a report. Jockey van der Merwe, the rider of FRENCH LASS, reported that his saddle slipped back in running. RED FLAME was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: GOOD THINKING and SWITCH UP - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. WILD RAVEN - returned with a mouth injury.
