The start of this Race was delayed due to the withdrawal of FORT WILLIAM, who had broken through the front gates and bolted. The starting stalls certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn until recertified tractable. FORT WILLIAM may not be presented for recertification for a period of 7 days. MAESTRALE jumped awkwardly. GYPSY FAIR raced equipped with pacifiers. GYPSY FAIR shifted in slightly away from the crop at approximately the 250 metre mark, resulting in FOREST FLYER having to ease off the heels of GYPSY FAIR shortly before the finish. CHESHIRE CAT was hanging out badly at approximately the 350 metre mark and difficult to assist. Jockey Yeni reported he felt something amiss with this gelding. Stable Employee Shaw was requested to report back should he find anything amiss with CHESHIRE CAT on return to the stables. Jockey van Rensburg reported that MAESTRALE was not striding out and did not persevere with his mount from the 400 metre mark. RANDOM AL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Greyling, the rider of RANDOM AL. raced in Club Colours with the Stewards permission. Vet: CHESHIRE CAT - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. WIND AT YOUR BACK - speedy cut left hind. MAESTRALE - not striding out right fore. Veterinary report required prior to entry. PROLAN - cut into left hind. Scratched: FORT WILLIAM - bolted.
