UPTOTHEMOON was slow, losing 3 to 4 lengths. Trainer Marwing was advised to re-school this horse to jump on terms with a companion. LOVE VIVIEN raced equipped with alumite bar shoes in front and alumites behind. LOVE VIVIEN was forced to switch out to obtain a clear run at the 350 metre mark. Jockey Khumalo reported that CLASSIC ILLUSION was not striding out freely in running. Jockey Strydom reported that TRESCO made a respiratory noise in running. TIP TOE shifted out away from the crop from approximately the 150 metre mark, making contact with SKY PIRATE, resulting in SKY PIRATE being forced to ease shortly before the finish line. An Objection was lodged by Jockey Herholdt, the rider of the 4th placed horse, SKY PIRATE, against the 2nd placed horse, TIP TOE, on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. The Board, after viewing the patrol films of the race and hearing all the evidence, were of the opinion that whilst TIP TOE had interfered with SKY PIRATE, SKY PIRATE would not have finished in front of TIP TOE and therefore overruled the Objection. The result stands. Jockey Herholdt's deposit was refunded. Jockey van Niekerk was charged with a contravention in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to SKY PIRATE in the latter stages of the race whilst riding TIP TOE. Jockey van Niekerk signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in races for a period of ten days. ORATOR'S DAUGHTER (AUS) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ORATOR'S DAUGHTER (AUS) was hanging in from the 400 metre mark. Jockey Fayd'Herbe was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline M on the use of the crop, in that he used his crop with excessive frequency whilst riding the horse ORATOR'S DAUGHTER (AUS). Jockey Fayd'Herbe signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in races for a period of seven days. Vet: CLASSIC ILLUSION - not striding out left front. TRESCO - abnormal respiratory noise. GO INDIGO - coughing. Scratched: SEA SHADOW - off feed. DIRTYDEALIN MAMMA - abnormal temperature.
