STRONG BLONDE was slow into stride. OPEN THE BANK, CAYENNE , SHELLYS CONNECTION and KAJI lost one length. COOL ANNE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Apprentice May signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that he made a celebratory gesture shortly before the finish whilst riding COOL ANNE. FLY PEG FLY became cramped for galloping room sand was squeezed out shortly after the start. MARITZBURG (AUS) and SHELLYS CONNECTION were hanging in throughout. Jockey Lembethe, the rider of QUINTELLA, accidentally dropped his right side rein at approximately the 200 metre mark, which he re-gained at approximately the 50 metre mark. Apprentice Barnes reported that PULA was not striding out freely in running. In view of the performance of BEE MY HONEY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. SOPHIA raced equipped with blinkers. Vet: PULA - nothing obvious detected. BEE MY HONEY - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: BOLOVAL - rain interrupted work programme. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
