EPIC TALE cast the left fore shoe on the way to the start, which the farrier replaced causing a delay. EPIC TALE was restless in the stalls. Jockey Smitsdorff was charged with a contravention, in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight, or at the weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer Prestage to ride REPERTOIRE. Jockey Smitsdorff signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. Jockey Fayd'Herbe reported that SILVER HOLLY did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Hatt, the rider of PRIVATE DOOWALEY, was charged with a contravention, in that he rode in an unprofessional manner by dropping his crop at about the 250m. Jockey Hatt signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. TIPPUANA MOON and PRIVATE DOOWALEY were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SILVER HOLLY - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
