VIENNA WOOD was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Gordon requested and was granted permission for VIENNA WOOD to proceed to the start with the assistance of a lead horse. BREEDERS CUP broke down at approximately the 800 metre mark and was immediately eased out of the race. As a result HIS APPROVAL and PETER PIPER had to be checked with PETER PIPER thereafter being switched outwards carrying BIG BIRD and BRAAMBILLY (AUS) wide for a number of strides. As a result of this incident SERGEANT TIBBS was switched outwards and AUCTION KING and DUN CARRIER (ARG) were eased and switched outwards to avoid BREEDERS CUP. Thereafter CARIBBEAN DAY bumped BREEDERS CUP, became cramped between BREEDERS CUP and the inside rail and had to be checked, losing position. CARIBBEAN DAY was not persevered with thereafter. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine CARIBBEAN DAY. SERGEANT TIBBS became inconvenienced between runners at approximately the 150 metre mark. A race review was called by the owner of the second placed horse, PLATE OF PLATINUM, regarding the closing stages of the race and having viewed the patrol videos from the various angles, took no further action and allowed the Judge's result to stand. Vet: BREEDERS CUP - condylar fracture left fore. Euthanased on humane grounds. CARIBBEAN DAY - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: OLD MAC DONALD - Heat left fore fetlock. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
