KING O DREAMS jumped awkwardly, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. CELTIC JET was difficult to settle in the early stages, and in view of the performance from CELTIC JET, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding and submit a report. In view of the performances from NAVAL INTELLIGENCE and KING O DREAMS, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings and submit a report. Jockey Anthony was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline C, Appendix L, in that he misused his crop by hitting MISTER MATCHETT more than three times on consecutive strides in the concluding stages. Jockey Anthony signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. NAVAL INTELLIGENCE had to steady at the 300m to avoid the heels of CELTIC JET, which rolled in slightly. MR GOSS shifted in away from the crop for a number of strides at the 250m. Apprentice Carstens, the rider of MR GOSS, appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films and advised to take the necessary measures to keep his mounts on a straight course. EMBLEM HONOUR (AUS) and HELZAPOPPIN were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. The Club's Medical Officer stood down Jockey Puller for the remainder of the day. Vet: CELTIC JET - returned making a slight abnormal respiratory noise. NAVAL INTELLIGENCE and KING O DREAMS - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
