INTERNET JET reared in the stalls, was taken out examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded, causing a delay. Trainer Bass will be advised to have this filly re-schooled before her next engagement. In view of the performances from INTERNET JET, and VICTORIOUS LADY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies and submit a report. BABY BE MINE and ENDEARMENT (AUS) were tightened for galloping room and brushed on a number of occasions when attempting to improve into the same run between INTERNET JET and SIX OF THE BEST leaving the 400m. Thereafter ENDEARMENT (AUS) was baulked for a clear run for a number of strides at the 200m and had to switch out to continue her run in the closing stages. SOFT SNOW and JUST SO were hanging out in the closing stages. Jockey Khathi was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline C, Appendix L, in that he misused his crop by hitting BABY BE MINE more than three times on consecutive strides in the concluding stages. Jockey Khathi signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. CALYPSO was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: INTERNET JET - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. VICTORIOUS LADY - returned exhausted post race.
