EARTH STAR and CAPTAINS WINGS were slow losing one length. EARTH STAR proved reluctant to canter to the start and had to be led by a Handler. Stable Employee Le Grange was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future, she may be suspended. Jockey De Gouveia, the rider of IGWINYA, and Jockey Munger, the rider of U FOR ME, reported that their respective mounts did not stride out freely in running. At approximately the 900m, KILDONAN PRINCESS ducked in sharply for no apparent reason dislodging Jockey van Rensburg. As a consequence of this, Jockey Habib, the rider of PROMISE OF DAWN, had to ease and take evasive action to avoid Jockey van Rensburg. ROCK TO THE MUSIC and GREAT PROSPERITY were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. HAZEL EYES raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind. Vet: IGWINYA - lame left front. U FOR ME - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. CAPTAINS WINGS - speedy cut left hind. WHY LEIGH - coughing. Scratched: DESERT WANDERER - abnormal temperature. LIGHT LAKE - swollen left front.
