FUTURE LEADER and LORD KELLY were stubborn loading. ROYAL SEAL was stubborn loading, slow away and lost 4 lengths. STAR OF FURY was stubborn loading, slow away and 1 lost length. WHISTLE INN was nervous in the stall. ROARING SEA was slow away, lost 1 length. Permission was granted for ROYAL SEAL to be led to the start with a lead horse. ROYAL SEAL dislodged Jockey Webber en route to the start, ran loose, was caught and declared fit to race by the Course Veterinary Surgeon at the start. Trainer Paddock was advised to re-school this gelding on course prior to racing again. In view of the performance of ROYAL SEAL, the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Apprentice Mxothwa reported that WHISTLE INN was not striding out freely in the running. ROARING SEA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Webber was stood down by the Course Medical Officer, after the running of this race, suffering from mild concussion. Vet: ROYAL SEAL - fatigued, slightly short left hind. WHISTLE INN - speedy cut inside heel bulb right fore, post race distress syndrome.
