MOMENT IN TIME was restless in the stalls. KING O DREAMS jumped awkwardly, losing five lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. Races 5, 6, 7 and 8 off times were rescheduled prior to the start of the Race Meeting at the request of Phumelela. Jockey Khathi, the rider of MOMENT IN TIME, was charged with a contravention, in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight or the agreed weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer. Jockey Khathi signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. The saddle on KISANGANI slipped forward approaching the bend at about the 1100m, which resulted in Apprentice Neethling being unable to fully assist the gelding thereafter. Jockey Khathi reported that he felt something amiss with MOMENT IN TIME in running. Jockey Andrews reported that KING O DREAMS did not stride out freely in running and did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. Jockey van Niekerk, the rider of FREE VERSE, was charged with a contravention, in that he rode in an unprofessional manner by dropping his crop at the 300m. Jockey van Niekerk signed an Admission of Guilt for the penalty of a Warning. IT IS WRITTEN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: KISANGANI - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. MOMENT IN TIME - returned not striding out behind. KING O DREAMS - returned not striding out on the right fore.
