KILLUA CASTLE (AUS) and KNOCK ON WOOD were slow, losing 1 to 2 lengths. WYLIE HALL (AUS) was carried inwards at approximately the 350 metre mark by TELLINA, which was hanging in and shifted inwards. This resulted in WYLIE HALL (AUS) having to steady to avoid the heels of SEAL, which shifted out slightly. Thereafter at approximately the 150 metre mark SEAL had to steady to avoid the heels of TELLINA, which continued to hang inwards. Jockey Hatt, the rider of TELLINA, appeared before the Board regarding these two incidents, and was advised to take the necessary measures to keep his mounts on a straight course. KNOCK ON WOOD became tightened for galloping room on the inside running rail at approximately the 100 metre mark and had to check off the heels of POMODORO, which shifted inwards. Jockey Fayd'Herbe, the rider of KNOCK ON WOOD, called a race review regarding this incident and then lodged an Objection on behalf of KNOCK ON WOOD, placed 5th, against the 3rd placed horse, POMODORO, on the grounds of interference at approximately the 100 metre mark. The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence presented, and reviewing the patrol films, was of the opinion that the result had not been affected by the incident complained of and overruled the objection and allowed the judges result to stand. Jockey Fayd'Herbe's deposit was refunded. An inquiry will be opened into this incident. YORKER, TELLINA and POMODORO were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: KNOCK ON WOOD - speedy cut right hind. Scratched: HALVE THE DEFICIT - abscess right front.
