DANCE TO THE BEAT and KINGSLEY made contact at the start. WOODEN STAR was reluctant to load, causing a delay. Trainer Snaith will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled before its next engagement. Jockey Andrews, the rider of LUNDY'S WARRIOR, raced in Club Colours. In view of the performance from KENTUCKY BLUEGRASS, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding and submit a report. WATERWAYS was carried out slightly in the concluding stages by KINGSLEY, which shifted out slightly. When questioned with regard to the improved performance from KINGSLEY today, compared to the gelding's previous run on 01 March 2014, when the gelding finished 11.75 lengths behind the winner over 1400m at Durbanville, Assistant Trainer Miss Bent, acting on behalf of Trainer Humby, told the Stewards that this gelding had been better suited over the extra distance of today's race and had shown improved work at home and in her opinion the quality of today's field was possibly weaker, which had accounted for the improved performance. The Board noted her explanation and drew her attention to the Rules pertaining to inconsistent form and the future performances of KINGSLEY will be monitored. KINGSLEY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: KENTUCKY BLUEGRASS - Epistaxis and was suspended for 90 days. WATERWAYS and LUNDY'S WARRIOR - returned coughing. Scratched: TUVANO - coughing. FLYING GALILEO (AUS) - not eating up.
