PIVOTAL PURSUIT, SIAMESE FIGHTER, GAZ MAN and JETSCREEN were slow, losing one length. Jockey Khumalo was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline C on the use of the crop, in that he struck the horse THREE WISHES more than three times on consecutive strides in the latter stages of the race. Jockey Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine was imposed. Jockey Latham reported that PIVOTAL PURSUIT was not striding out freely in running. MOONRIVER MAGIC was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: PIVOTAL PURSUIT - not striding out right front. Scratched: SRINAGAR - not striding out. MARCHING BAND - insufficient recovery time. SAINT CLAIRE - abnormal temperature. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
