BORN TO FLY was restless in the stalls. PLAIN MAGIC and WITCHERY were slow into stride. BROWN SUGAR lost one length. WITCHERY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Bruss was questioned with regard to the improved performance of WITCHERY, the winner, compared to this filly's debut run on the 26 March 2014. He explained that in his opinion, this filly is better suited to the longer distance today. Mr Bruss was further of the opinion that WITCHERY was unsuited to the heavy going that prevailed in her previous run. The Board noted his explanation. QUEEN OF THRONES jumped outwards at the start, carrying SAINTE CAMILLE and GOLDEN SPRINTER outwards, resulting in SAINTE CAMILLE and GOLDEN SPRINTER becoming cramped and making contact. Thereafter GOLDEN SPRINTER was squeezed out. BROWN SUGAR raced green. CAPE JEWEL raced wide into the straight. HEART OF WINTER jumped a patch at approximately the 400 metre mark and thereafter became inconvenienced between horses for a number of strides at approximately the 200 metre mark. SAINTE CAMILLE was hanging in, in the latter stages. In view of the performance of THUNDER QUEEN, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Vet: THUNDER QUEEN and GOLDEN SPRINTER - coughing. Scratched: IOLANTHE - transport breakdown.
