AFRICAN SHOWERS jumped awkwardly, throwing her head up and lost four lengths. VADE MECUM jumped awkwardly, losing two lengths. In view of the performances from PHILADELPHIA and BUNNY'S TEDDY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies and submit a report. Jockey Neisius reported that BANDANA GIRL did not stride out freely in running. PHILADELPHIA became cramped for galloping room for a number of strides when AFRICAN SHOWERS was forced to switch inwards off the heels of a tiring BUNNY'S TEDDY at the 400m. VARSTER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: BANDANA GIRL - returned not striding out. PHILADELPHIA and BUNNY'S TEDDY - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. CASEY'S JET - returned having cast the left fore shoe. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
