ALEXANDER was slow into stride. GLOBAL EXPRESS and SAGE THRONE lost 1 length. ALEXANDER and GOTHIC were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. As a result of a slowing pace in the early stages. ALEXANDER was eased off the heels of GLOBAL EXPRESS at approximately the 2100 metre mark. Apprentice Murray, the rider of BORDERED IN GREY, appeared before the Board and was advised of his obligations that when racing in the lead he was to better regulate his pace. SAGE THRONE raced around the field to the front in the back straight and thereafter compounded in the latter stages. In view of this, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Vet: SAGE THRONE - nothing obvious detected. AIR PATROL - abnormal respiratory noise. BORDERED IN GREY - blowing. Scratched: TARGET FIVE - not eating up.
