KING HORIZONS flyjumped and broke the front gate on two occasions, delaying the start, and was withdrawn for being intractable. Trainer Kotzen will be advised that this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and in view of its history at the start is suspended for 30 days and until the gelding is passed tractable, on two separate occasions, with company, on a race day. SPANISH TIGER was slow into stride. This race was run in light rain. In view of the performances from ON THE NOD, SHADES OF INDIGO, and KUKAMA, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses and submit a report. In a tightly bunched field SHISHANGENI was turned outwards when bumped by CORNY AL, which rolled in slightly. CLASSY FIGHTER was switched out to continue its run at the 400m. When questioned Jockey Fayd'Herbe told the Stewards that, in his opinion, SHADES OF INDIGO performs better when left alone in the early stages and being allowed to run on strongly in the closing stages. Assistant Trainer Sobotker, acting on behalf of Trainer Ramsden, was requested to report back on the condition of SHADES OF INDIGO on its return to the stables. CLASSY FIGHTER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: ON THE NOD, SHADES OF INDIGO and KUKAMA - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. SHISHANGENI - returned with a mouth injury. KING HORIZONS - reared in the stalls, mouth injury. Scratched: KING HORIZONS - intractable, withdrawn at start.
