ASHTON PARK flyjumped awkwardly outwards with its head up, brushed the side of the stalls, losing four lengths. Trainer Bass will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled before its next engagement. The Board reviewed the start regarding ASHTON PARK in stall gate 5, and established that the gelding had flyjumped as the start was effected and then shifted outwards losing ground to the field. The Stewards were satisfied that ASHTON PARK was under Starter's orders and declared the gelding to be a runner. LAURIE'S GOLD was hanging in, in the closing stages. JOHNNY ROCKETS and SHISHANGENI were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: LAURIE'S GOLD - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
