The start of the 7th Race was delayed as a result of the left fore shoe on KINEMATIC COUNTESS having to be replaced at the start. SCHIFFER refused to load. REFLECTIVE IMAGE lost 1 length. VIA AFRICA, FLY BY NIGHT and JET AGLOW were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. In view of the Starter's report concerning SCHIFFER the starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn until recertified tractable with a companion. CHOIR MAIDEN (AUS) was hanging in throughout. Jockey Sturgeon reported that CHOIR MAIDEN (AUS) was changing legs continuously in running. REFLECTIVE IMAGE took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Jockey Randolph, the rider of JET SUPREME, and Jockey Delpech, the rider of JACKODORE, reported that their respective mounts were not striding out freely in running. Jockey Strydom reported that TIGER QUEST (AUS) was not striding out freely in the latter stages. Jockey van Niekerk signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that he mis-used his crop by striking FLY BY NIGHT more than three times on consecutive strides in the latter stages. Vet: REFLECTIVE IMAGE and CHOIR MAIDEN - nothing obvious detected. JET SUPREME - nasal discharge and mouth injury. JACKODORE - cut into left hind and not striding out left hind. TIGER QUEST (AUS) - not striding out behind. Scratched: SCHIFFER - refused to load and was withdrawn by the Starter.
