QUILICIOUS, TIMES REMEMBERED and AMERICAN PIE were slow, losing 1 to 2 lengths. SLINKY JALINKY raced equipped with alumite bar shoes in front and alumites behind. AMERICAN PIE over-raced in the early stages and was baulked for a clear run between the 400 metre mark and the 200 metre mark. TIMES REMEMBERED shifted out at approximately the 200 metre mark, taking up the running of QUILICIOUS, resulting in QUILICIOUS clipping the heels of TIMES REMEMBERED and stumbling badly. Thereafter, Jockey Wrogemann did not persevere with his mount. As a result of this incident, EXTRAORDINAIRE was forced to ease off the heels of QUILICIOUS. Jockey Dean signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to QUILICIOUS at approximately the 150 metre mark whilst riding TIMES REMEMBERED. The Board took into account the severity of the interference suffered by QUILICIOUS and imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of ten (10) days. Jockey Zechner reported that SLINKY JALINKY was not striding out freely in running. Jockey Lerena reported that STEP IT UP made a respiratory noise in running. SOPHIA GRACE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. SAINT CLAIRE carried 56kg with a merit rating of 56, winner 25 May 2014 Turffontein Racecourse. Vet: SLINKY JALINKY - not striding out left front. Veterinary report required prior to entry. STEP IT UP - no respiratory noise detected post race. SOPHIA GRACE and DANIELLE - abnormal respiratory noise.
