The start of this race was delayed due to the late positioning of the Starting Stalls SHINE LIKE A STAR was stubborn loading. ORACLE MANOR was stubborn loading, flyjumped, slow away and lost 2 lengths. DANCING NATASHA was nervous in the stall, slow away and lost 2 lengths. BALLYHOO was nervous in the stall. FREDERICK FOX lost 1 to 2 lengths. Permission was granted for SHINE LIKE A STAR to be led to the start with a lead horse. A race review was called into the start of this race. After reviewing the Patrol Film of the start Starting Stall gates eight and six opened slow and FREDERICK FOX and ORACLE MANOR lost one and a half lengths and two lengths respectively. The Board declared ORACLE MANOR a non-runner but as FREDERICK FOX had been placed second the Board acted in terms of rule 61.5.10.1. Starting Stall gates seven and nine were also momentarily slow but both runners jumped on terms. This incident will be investigated further. PACYANO was hanging in and FREDERICK FOX shifted inwards independently from the 300 metre mark. Approaching the 100 metre mark PACYANO brushed FREDERICK FOX. The Stipendiary Board called for a race review into this incident which was followed by an Objection lodged by Jockey Fourie, the rider of FREDERICK FOX, placed second, against PACYANO, on the grounds of interference in the closing stages. After re-viewing the Patrol Film of the incident and hearing evidence from the parties concerned, the Board took into consideration that after the incident FREDERICK FOX had headed PACYANO and PACYANO had come back to win the race. The Board decided to overrule the Objection and the placings stand. The Objection fee was refunded. PACYANO was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: BALLYHOO, DANCING NATASHA and ORACLE MANOR - blood in mouth. THUNDER FURY - checked post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: ORACLE MANOR - declared a non-runner.
