The start of this Race was delayed due to the farrier having to re-fit the left fore shoe on TOP JET at the start. LOUIS THE KING lost one length and thereafter was slow into stride. LEGISLATE and RAKE'S CHESTNUT were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. CAPTAIN AMERICA over-raced in the early stages and refused to settle. WHISTLE STOP faltered at approximately the 1100 metre mark. CAPTAIN AMERICA, hanging out, shifted out approaching the 250 metre mark and brushed BEZANOVA, which was carried outwards and brushed RAKE'S CHESTNUT outwards slightly onto the heels of LEGISLATE, which was shifting in slightly. As a result of this, RAKE'S CHESTNUT was awkwardly placed on the heels of LEGISLATE and was forced to ease. A race review was called by a Stipendiary Steward which was followed by a review by Jockey Marcus, the rider of RAKE'S CHESTNUT, with regard to the above incident. After viewing the patrol videos from the various angles and the movement by all horses concerned, both parties took no further action. Jockey Hatt, the rider of CAPTAIN AMERICA, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take stronger measures in keeping his mounts on a straight course in the future. Jockey Marwing reported that AS YOU LIKE was not striding out freely in running. TOP JET returned post race having cast the left fore shoe. MERCADO raced with a tongue tie. Vet: AS YOU LIKE - blowing (slightly).
