The start of this race was delayed due to routine maintenance having to be completed on the track. RIVULET was slow into stride. Jockey Maujean reported that MILYNNE was not striding out freely in the latter stages of the race. In view of the performance of ESCUDO, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Both Trainer Tarry and Jockey Khumalo were questioned regards to the performance of ESCUDO. They were of the opinion that this filly had not been able to get cover and as a result had over-raced in the early stages. This explanation was noted. Trainer Tarry has undertaken to report back to the Board should he find anything untoward on return to stables. E-TICKET was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: MILYNNE - not striding out right front. ESCUDO - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. FRENCH APPROVAL - suspected epistaxis, 90 day suspension pending endoscopic report.
