PROMISING was slow into stride. MS BROOKS lost one length. SEPHORA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Apprentice Claassen, the rider of CARMELA'S FURIO, appeared before the Board and was reminded of his riding obligation with regard to riding his mounts out to the end of the race. FAMILY FORTUNE was pulling hard in the early stages. Jockey Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with FAMILY FORTUNE in the latter stages. Apprentice Dillon reported that MS BROOKS was not striding out freely in the latter stages. SEPHORA, hanging in, shifted in at approximately the 200 metre mark, carrying CARMELA'S FURIO inwards for a number of strides. Jockey Delpech, the rider of SEPHORA, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take stronger measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in future. MS BROOKS baulked for a number of strides at approximately the 300 metre mark and was forced to switch out to obtain a clear run. KEPT SECRET raced green and wide on the bend. PROMISING raced with cheek pieces and with a tongue tie. Vet: LA DIGUE - Epistaxis, 90 days suspension. FAMILY FORTUNE - nothing obvious detected. MS BROOKS - not striding out left fore.
