The start of the 5th Race was delayed due to the delay to the start of the 4th Race. HIJACKED was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. SUPERCEDE was hanging out over the final 300 metres. HIJACKED was baulked for a clear run and was forced to switch out to obtain a clear run at approximately the 250 metre mark. DOWN SIR DOWN over-raced in the early and middle stages. SHEIKINA was eased out of the race at approximately the 800 metre mark. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. Jockey Neisius signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that he mis-used his crop by striking HIJACKED more than three times on consecutive strides in the latter stages. BALL DANCER and BRYONYBRIGHTWATER did not race fitted with cheek pieces. Vet: SHEIKINA - ruptured left fore superficial flexor tendon. QAHAL'S APPLAUSE - coughing. Scratched: LADY OF KILDARE - no transport.
