FORGET-ME-NOT was slow into stride. CLUB ROYAL was slow, losing one length. Apprentice Maleking reported THE RED TZAR was making a respiratory noise in running. Apprentice Maleking was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline M on the use of the crop, in that he used his crop with excessive frequency whilst riding the horse THE RED TZAR. Apprentice Maleking signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in races for a period of seven days. In view of the performance of FLAMING ACE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Assistant Trainer Strydom and Jockey Marwing were questioned with regards to FLAMING ACE's performance. Both Ms Strydom and Jockey Marwing were of the opinion that FLAMING ACE had not acted on the sand surface. Their explanations were noted. THERE IS A DREAM was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: FLAMING ACE - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. DELICIOUS DAMOWIN (AUS) - abnormal respiratory noise. THE RED TZAR - no respiratory noise detected post race. Scratched: TAIWAN TREASURE - insufficient recovery time. STOP THE CRISIS - - no transport available.
