The start of this race was delayed due to UNITED spreading its left front shoe and having to be attended to by the Course Farrier. SLICK DEPUTY was stubborn loading. WATER MUSIC raced with a tongue tie. QUILICIOUS raced equipped with cheek pieces. Apprentice Maleking reported that SUNSET BABY was not striding out freely in running. FOXY ICE was hanging in from the 300 metre mark. In view of the performance of ECHUKA (AUS), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Jockey Lerena was questioned regarding the performance of ECHUKA (AUS). He explained to the Board that in his opinion this filly had not acted on the sand surface. His explanation was noted. ELECTRIC ELEKTRA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Apprentice Munger has now ridden twenty winners and will only claim a 2,5kg allowance with effect from Friday, 20 June 2014. Vet: ECHUKA (AUS) - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. ELECKTRIC ELEKTRA - abnormal respiratory noise. SUNSET BABY - lame right front and speedy cut left hind. TOP NOTCH - coughing. Scratched: CENTIMES and DOLORES - no transport available. CUIRASS - mouth injury. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure. Several Jockeys were selected for breathalyser tests and the taking of urine samples for analysis.
