PROF TIGER was restless in the stalls. DANGEROUS LIAISON jumped awkwardly, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. KUKAMA was slow, losing one length. SIDECAR jumped awkwardly, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. WALTON HEATH was slow, losing one length. The start time of this race was rescheduled at the request of Phumelela. Jockey Byleveld reported that PROF TIGER did not stride out freely in running. MUSICAL MAN was carried outwards at the 200m by SOCIETY ROCK, which was hanging out and shifted outwards. Thereafter at the 100m MUSCIAL MAN was carried out once again by SOCIETY ROCK, which rolled outwards and had to steady to avoid the heels of MISTER MATCHETT, which rolled in slightly. Jockey van Niekerk, the rider of SOCIETY ROCK, appeared before the Board and was advised to take the necessary measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in future. WISE GEEK (ZIM) was held up for a clear run between the 300m and 200m on the heels of a tiring CORNY AL. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine CORNY AL, which compounded in the home straight. Apprentice Neethling, the rider of ROARING WIND, appeared before the Board and was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts to the finish. SOCIETY ROCK and MISTER MATCHETT were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: CORNY AL - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. PROF TIGER - returned having cast the left fore shoe. Scratched: LANE FROST - nasal discharge. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure. Several Jockeys and Apprentices were selected for the taking of breathalyser tests and urine samples for analysis.
