Jockey van Rensburg (medically indisposed) did not ride at today's race meeting. He was replaced on his mounts. The start of this Race was delayed due to the close proximity of an electric storm. ZIG ZAG was slow, losing 1 length. BRAVESTARR jumped inwards leaving the stalls. TRAVELIN MAN was slow into stride. CUSTOM MADE pulled its left front shoe en route to the start, which was refitted by the Farrier. Shortly after the start DRAFT DAY had to steady when awkwardly placed between DANCE TUNE and ROCKET TRAVELLER. Jockey Bantam, the rider of ZIG ZAG, accidentally dropped his crop shortly before the finish line. Jockey Strydom reported that UNTAMED TIGER was not suited to the wet underfoot conditions. Trainer Sham was requested to report back on the condition of UNTAMED TIGER on return to stables. TRAVELIN MAN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. TRAVELIN MAN raced equipped with a Cornell collar. Vet: BRAVESTARR - speedy cut right hind. DRAFT DAY - coughing; mouth injury from bit. LORD MELBOURNE - abnormal respiratory noise. ROCKET TRAVELLER - not striding out left hind. Following the running of race 1, after consultation with the Jockeys, the going was changed to Soft.
