MONARCHS EMBLEM was restless in the stalls. In view of the performance from TAOS, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding and submit a report. Jockey Neisius reported that he felt something amiss with ROCKET RIDER in running and did not persevere with his riding in the closing stages. AYRTON had to steady momentarily off the heels of ROVENTAS approaching the 200m, which shifted inwards away from the crop. ILLINOIS was held up for a clear run on the inside of AYRTON between the 250m and 150m. MONARCHS EMBLEM was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: ROCKET RIDER -and TAOS - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. ROVENTAS - returned having cast the right fore shoe.
