IRISH MAY, which was restless in the stalls, was slow losing one length. BABY BE MINE was slow into stride. BABY BE MINE was forced to ease off the heels of RUSHINTOTHEWIND, which rolled inwards in the concluding stages. In view of the performance from VOGUE IDEA, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly and submit a report. Assistant Trainer Miss Steyn, acting on behalf of Trainer Govender, was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on this filly's condition on her return to the stables. Apprentice Carstens, the rider of LOBOLA, was charged with a contravention in that he failed to wear eye protection in this race. Apprentice Carstens signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. SURFER GIRL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: VOGUE IDEA - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. Scratched: MOON BY NIGHT - retired.
