FLAMING WINTER and SUCCESS STORY jumped outwards. KOKESHI was slow into stride. WHOLE OF THE MOON jumped inwards. Shortly after the start ANYTHING GOES and POWDER PUFF came together and bumped when awkwardly placed between FLAMING WINTER, which jumped out, and WHOLE OF THE MOON), which jumped in. SWISS BANK over-raced in the early stages, resulting in the saddle on this filly slipping forward, which was confirmed by the Stipendiary Board. Thereafter SWISS BANK commenced to hang in from the 300m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. At approximately the 1200m SUCCESS STORY had to steady to avoid running onto the heels of FLAMING WINTER, which was awkwardly placed on the inside of SWISS BANK, which was over-racing. ANYTHING GOES the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. SWISS BANK was ridden by Jockey P Strydom. Trainer G C Walker signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000-00 for contravening Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate the horse WATCHING CLOSELY against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. WITH OUR BLESSING raced equipped with alumite shoes. POWDER PUFF - fatigued. SWISS BANK - not striding out left front. SCRATCHED: MAYA BAY - no suitable jockey.
