ACT OF WAR, CATKIN and SHIMMERING LEAVES were restless in the stalls, and as a result CAPTAIN'S ORDER'S broke through the front gate, was immediately eased up and returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to run, and was reloaded, causing a delay. MOMENTOUS tired quickly from the 250m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the colt and submit a report. Jockey van Niekerk was charged with a contravention in that he failed to ride ACT OF WAR to the end of the race in a satisfactory manner. Jockey van Niekerk signed an Admission of Guilt for the penalty of a Warning. ACT OF WAR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: MOMENTOUS - made a poor recovery.
