YER-MAAN, MIRAGE DRIVE and ROCCO'S LUCK (AUS) were slow, losing one length. MIRAGE DRIVE shifted in at approximately the 1500 metre mark, resulting in GENTLEMAN JACK having to ease for a number of strides. Apprentice Munger, the rider of MIRAGE DRIVE, appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol film of the race and advised to take more care when shifting ground in future. Apprentice Zackey reported that GENTLEMAN JACK was not striding out freely and as a result did not persevere with his mount from the 400 metre mark. YER-MAAN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: ROCCO'S LUCK (AUS) - abnormal respiratory noise. GENTLEMAN JACK - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. Trainer Zackey was advised to report back should he find anything amiss on return to stables.
