STEP TO FAME lost one length. STORM SURF and DODGE CITY were slow into stride. SHELLYS CONNECTION lost two lengths. SACRED JEWEL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey de Melo, under the impression that there was something amiss with BUFFALO BILL, eased this gelding out of the race at approximately the 1200 metre mark and shifted out, resulting in DODGE CITY being forced wide and having to race wide for a number of strides. FULLY CHARGED switched out to obtain a clear run at approximately the 100 metre mark, forcing STORM SURF outwards, which resulted in DODGE CITY becoming cramped and being forced to ease for a number of strides. Jockey Byleveld signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that, as the rider of FULLY CHARGED, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to the horses STORM SURF and DODGE CITY at approximately the 100 metre mark. He was suspended for a period of 7 days. SACRED JEWEL was hanging in, in the latter stages. Vet: HIGH ARROW - cut into right hind. BUFFALO BILL - nothing obvious detected.
