ONTENDERHOOKS reared at the off, was slow away and lost 4 lengths. Trainer A C Greeff was advised to re-school this mare prior to its next engagement. EVOLVER was stubborn loading. The Stewards reviewed the start of this race with regards to ONTENDERHOOKS in stall gate three (3) and established that ONTENDERHOOKS had reared as the start was effected and as a consequence lost ground at the start. The Stewards were satisfied that this mare had not been impeded and declared her to be a runner. Leaving the 500m, INDY ICE which was hanging in, rolled in and brushed OMAHA TRIBE. Jockey R Fourie (INDY ICE) got his crop tangled in the reins when he attempted to change his crop from his right hand to his left hand leaving the 150m. The winner MERYL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM). SCRATCHED: JUST MY STYLE lame left front, Rule 53.5 applies.
