NORDIC JET and TARGET FIVE lost one length. INNATE QUALITY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. VICTORY EMBLEM became cramped for galloping room and was eased at approximately the 2300 metre mark. ROYAL MAC (AUS) was carried in slightly by INNATE QUALITY at approximately the 900 metre mark. NAD'S PRIDE raced wide into the final straight. ROYAL MAC (AUS) compounded from approximately the 600 metre mark. In view of this, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey Lerena reported that PAYNES BAY was not striding out freely in the latter stages. In view of the performance of ARCH RIVAL, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. NAD'S PRIDE raced with cheek pieces on. Vet: ROYAL MAC (AUS) and ARCH RIVAL - nothing obvious detected. PAYNES BAY - fatigued and not striding out left hind. GOLD BANK - cut into right hind.
