MISSING LINK arrived at the start late, causing a delay. FLAIR FACTOR jumped awkwardly and thereafter was slow into stride. MAIN ATTRACTION jumped awkwardly, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. MISSING LINK was reluctant to proceed to the start and had to be led to the start by a handler delaying the start. In view of the intractable behaviour from the filly Trainer Ramsden will be advised that the filly is suspended indefinitely until such time it is presented on a racecourse on a raceday and proceeds to the start to the satisfaction of the Stewards. COMMAND CHI (AUS) became unbalanced at the 1000m when it clipped the heels of MAIN ATTRACTION, which had difficulty negotiating the bend and became unbalanced when it rolled out sharply. INN ACTION was held up for a clear run for a number of strides on the inside of MISSING LINK at the 400m, and thereafter at the 150m was switched out to continue its run on the outside of DIXIE REBEL, which rolled out slightly. Jockey Smitsdorff, the rider of FLAIR FACTOR, appeared before the Board and was advised that the Stewards were of the opinion that he had not made contact with his crop in the closing stages. Jockey Smitsdorff was further advised that he is required to ride with sufficient vigour and determination so as to leave no room for query from the Stewards. In the early stages MISSING LINK, INN ACTION and BELLE JULIETTE raced tightly on the inside of DIXIE REBEL, which shifted inwards from its wide draw. Jockey Wright, the rider of DIXIE REBEL, appeared before the Board and was advised to give more room to runners on his inside in races around the bend in future. INN ACTION and BELLE JULIETTE were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
