LANE FROST jumped awkwardly, losing three lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. In view of the performance from BAD NEWS MEEUWS, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding and submit a report. An Inquiry will be opened into the circumstances that led to LANE FROST being severely unbalanced on the inside running rail when positioned on the inside of ARACHNE approaching the 150m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine LANE FROST and submit a report. WALTON HEATH was baulked for a clear run in the home straight until the 200m. SUNDARI was held up for a clear run between the 200m and 100m. WALTON HEATH and BRAVE LEADER were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. BAD NEWS MEEUWS raced with alumites in front and unshod behind. Vet: BAD NEWS MEEUWS and LANE FROST - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
